Using Glass To Shatter Stereotypes
(Doremus leads the way in transforming B2B communications.)

November 22, 2011

New York, November 22, 2011: The category of business communications is alive and well and has never been better, at least that is the consensus at Doremus, the global, award-winning business communications network.

Doremus has helped transform a category that was once described as "handsomely boring" and raised it to excellence on several levels: strategic thinking, creative expression and media channel expertise. The same passion and innovation behind B2C brands is now fueling excellence and creativity in B2B.

Campaigns for two leading, long-established glass companies are examples of how Doremus has elevated those brands through effective communications efforts. Awards shows are taking notice.

O-I (Owens-Illinois), the world's leading glass packaging company, has been named the Winner in BtoB magazine's annual "Best" Awards for Best Integrated Campaign (over $200,000). The Glass Is Life™ campaign created a global movement for glass using print, digital and a social strategy.

Runner-up position in the Best Integrated category went to a campaign for Corning® Gorilla® Glass, also created by Doremus. The Corning® Gorilla® Glass campaign debuted in January 2011 at the Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas.

Evelyn Neill, Doremus Co-Executive Creative Director, said, "We've always known where we wanted to go with B2B communications – to make measurably great work that doesn't rest its laurels on a B2B caveat. We really feel like we're getting there. This work is appreciated by our clients and their clients. And as the numbers show, it is appreciated by many more of our clients' constituents too. Opening up new opportunities for them and for us – that is what great work is about."

Earlier in the year, Doremus created a film for a Corning Incorporated shareholders' meeting called "A Day Made of Glass." It was posted on YouTube and within weeks became "the most watched corporate video in history" with over 17 million views, an unheard of record for most YouTube posts, much less one in the business communications category.

The film has gone on to win:

The International Academy of Visual Arts W3 Awards (recognizing the power of web creativity)

Best in Show, Video Features/Design category for Corning's "A Day Made of Glass."
Gold in the Branded Content: Promotional/Branding category for Corning's "A Day Made of Glass."

Digital Impact Awards (the UK's leading award for excellence in digital communications)

Silver for Best Use of Online Video for Corning's "A Day Made of Glass."

Business Marketing Association (B2 Awards)

Best of Category (web and video, video production), Corning's "A Day Made of Glass."

Other recent wins for Doremus campaigns include:
