Business Development Director/Director of Strategic Partnerships

We are seeking an experienced professional who will provide leadership and strategic development in handling new business initiatives across the nation. Energetic self-starters with a consultative sales approach will be successful in this role. Candidates must be pro-active in building relationships, driving revenue and increasing client base. You must be results-driven and committed to creating new business opportunities, along with possessing excellent networking and relationship building skills.           Qualifications      
Responsibilities

•Strategically develop new business opportunities and key relationships for our San Francisco office in conjunction with agency goals

•Work with leadership teams to identify targeted industries/companies

•Research, develop and maintain a list of targeted prospects classified by size, market, service and readiness to buy

•Maintain regular contact with identified prospects, Consultants and other lead resources

•Work in tandem with President (SF) to develop sales goals

•Report on market climate, competitive position and specific sales opportunities, as part of annual and long-term business plan development and implementation

•Represent the agency at appropriate meetings, and events, and direct agency management to those critical to high-level exposure

•Track wins and losses; communicate with client prospects after each new business effort to identify and analyze trends

•Identify best practices in winning business and develop training and education programs to apply these best practices broadly across the region

•Develop sales support materials, direct mail pieces and promotional tools

•Assist in developing pitch strategy and approach

Qualifications

•Proven track record at closing business wins
•Ability to write creatively, concisely, and persuasively
•Excellent verbal communication skills
•Strong presentation skills 
•Personal traits: tactful, flexible, collaborative, decisive, creative, energetic, articulate

Requirements

•Minimum of 10 years experience working in the communications industry
•Successful track record in leading new business efforts for a communications firm
•Willingness to travel
